This pandemic that the Philippines and the world is facing now has been constantly bringing out the hero within many of us. Indeed, not all heroes wear cape.
A family in Tuguegarao, Cagayan has conducted their own relief operation in their place for the benefit of some neighbors who need food supply during the enhanced community quarantine.
Willem Breech Hui posted on Facebook last March 23 an announcement that their household repacked rice and food supplies that will be given away to neighbors who wish to drop by their house and claim the relief goods.
Hui said on Facebook as he posted a series of photographs showing the repacked goods.
[For those who need help, we prepared rice. Since an enhanced community quarantine is enforced, we cannot go outside so if you need rice you can drop by our house.]
[This is for our fellow villagers who don’t have the means to go out and buy food supplies and for boarders who were prevented to go home due to the lockdown.]
Their family’s act of kindness has earned praises from their neighbors, who expressed their gratitude on Facebook.
“Salamat at marami pa ring magaganda and na nakakapag-share kung ano meron sila. God bless you and your family,” a netizen said.
God bless you, sir,” another Facebook user expressed.
