President Rodrigo Duterte addressed the entire Filipino people amid the ongoing health crisis on the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Duterte allayed the fears of the people as the country reaches past 500 COVID-19 cases. He gave assurance that the government will do everything to serve the people.
‘Huwag kayong matakot. Nandito ‘yong gobyerno ninyo para kayo pagsilbihan at totoong pagsilbihan,” Duterte said.
The President said they are working in making sure the Filipinos will have access to their basic needs by providing financial assistance for almost everyone.
“Halos lahat ho makatanggap. Eh hindi naman lahat, ‘yong kagaya ni Bong Go, hindi naman niya tanggapin ‘yan. Gagawin namin ang lahat. Hindi namin kayo pababayaan,” he said.
Duterte urged the public to join the government’s efforts against the spread of COVID-19 by “following the guidelines set by the national government and your local officials.”
“I repeat: Stay at home. Huwag matigas ang ulo. The outcome of this war depends largely on you as well,” he said.
Duterte motivated the Filipinos to remain strong and work together amid the health crisis.
“Yes, things will not be easy. But we Filipinos are tough. Mas malakas ang Pilipino sa anumang hamon. Now, we all must do what we can and must. Para sa ating bayan,” he said.
The President continued that he remains steadfast in his vision for us to win this fight against COVID-19.
“I look forward to the day that we Filipinos can finally claim victory in this war and emerge as a stronger and more united Filipinos and Philippines,” he added.
