A simple scene of men clad in full gear disinfecting a market in Negros Occidental looks like a picture taken straight from a movie.
In an impressive set of photographs, a regular disinfecting activity at night time at the Talisay Public Market in Negros Occidental turned out to be your not so ordinary precautionary measure against coronavirus disease as the photos seem like a scene from a thriller film for displaying an eerie feels we always see on carefully-crafted movies. The photographs’ color grading is so on point and cinematic, it could pass as a movie poster.
The smoke coming from the disinfectant equipment even added drama to the photographs intended for public release.
The set of cinematic photographs was posted by the Public Information Office of Talisay on its Facebook page last March 19, taking numerous Facebook user by surprise.
“The 6:00 pm early closing of doors of the Talisay Public Market in Negros Occidental will give way to the disinfecting drive I have ordered as a risk mitigating action and proactive precautionary measure against COVID-19,” Mayor Neil Lizares said as his team released the photographs that instantly caught the attention of people online.
“Your understanding and cooperation is important to keep Talisay virus-free. Live social distancing. Don’t be the weakest link. Don’t belittle the virus and do take everything seriously. We’re all in these together, we will conquer,” Lizares added.
The mayor’s reminder was surely relayed to the people in his town as the photographs are hard not to notice and appreciate.
