Winwyn Marquez is joining the roster of celebrities who are taking an active part in becoming part of the country’s reservists.
Following her friend, Rocco Nacino, Winwyn is determined to become a Philippine Navy reservist. She is set to undergo this year’s Basic Citizen’s Military Training under the Philippine Navy. The training is an entry level military training course for those interested to enlist in the reserve force.
The Kapuso star and Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 titleholder shared her excitement in her newest challenge. Winwyn posted on Instagram a photo of herself with Naval Reserve Command Chief Brigadier General Ariel Caculitan and fellow Kapuso actor and Petty Officer 3rd Class Rocco Nacino.
She also explained her motivation in becoming a naval reservist.
Winwyn wrote, “People are asking me why I want to do this. I simply said because I want to, that’s it. No need for long explanations. We don’t need to justify what we want to do, we can just show them what we women CAN do.”
Winwyn also thanked her friend Rocco for “opening her eyes” in entering this new venture.
Truly a go-getter, Winwyn also took a step towards achieving her dream of becoming a teacher.
Last year, she finished a Teacher Certificate Program from Southville International School. She shared how there is so much in this world.
Winwyn wrote, “Southville touched my li
fe and now it’s my turn to touch the liv es of other people through teaching. It has always been a dream of mine to become a Teacher and now I’m a step closer. Always be curious. There’s a lot to learn about the world.”
