Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said it’s best to replace a wall bearing a politician’s name and face with murals made by students.
Following his commitment to steer away from “old” traditional politics, Mayor Vico proposed that walls bearing a politician’s name be cleaned and replaced. Instead of grandstanding his projects, Mayor Vico decided it’s best to fill the wall with colorful artworks made by students.
Mayor Vico was present during the Rizal High School Art Festival as they unveiled the school’s “Arts and Design Mural Paintings.” He said he feels pleased to see the artworks of the students.
He added that the government should give ample support to students who are good in arts.
The mayor also continued that in support of arts, the local government of Pasig will launch this June the pilot batch of Arts and Design scholars under the Pasig City Scholarship Program.
