A wedding in Siargao has captivated many netizens for its unique details and decors.
While many couples prefer to have all the glitz and glamour on their big day, a Cebuano couple decided to go “all organic” and eco-friendly.
Couple Airene Cabatania and Jonathan Iwayan Jr. shared their ‘I do’s’ in a unique and beautiful beach wedding in Siargao. It has the sand, the sea and all their special people. But what sets their wedding apart is their unique and creative motif. They decided to go all biodegradable and not spend too much on decors that will be put to waste after the wedding.
Many netizens were impressed at how the wedding details gave off a totally rustic vibe.
Instead of expensive fresh flowers, the couple opted for a variety of dried leaves. Their table centerpieces also had branches and intricately designed leaves. Even the entourage had Ipil-ipil flowers, wild grass as bouquet. They picked up coconut inflorescence and branches along the beach to use as part of their backdrop. The over all effect of the details still screams perfection and class.
“Everything was DIY. We did not hire an event stylist to do the decorations. Quite hard though considering our goal towards an environment-friendly event,” Airene shared with Philstar.
“The chairs made of bamboo and canvas were made by my husband’s family. Everything had been taken into consideration if it’s ethical, biodegradable, low-cost and functional,” Airene added.
The couple said they wanted a wedding that uses fewer materials, less energy and would result to less carbon-footprint.
