- Actor John Arcilla is asking for volunteers and aid for the hundreds of dogs rescued in Batangas
- According to the actor, it seems like many owners are not interested in claiming their dogs as their number rise in the shelter
- He said anyone interested to help may simply send him a message on Instagram or reach out to his foundation, the Capable Foundation
John Arcilla called for more aid to help take care of hundreds of displaced dogs following the Taal Vol
cano eru ption.
A known dog lover, Arcilla could not help but use his social media reach to try and ask for more volunteers. The actor has been actively volunteering to help care for over 400 dogs in a shelter in Batangas.
According to Arcilla, a kind resident opened his personal farm in Brgy. Tumalim, Sitio Sibukawan, Nasugbu, Batangas as a temporary shelter for the dogs. Unfortunately, Arcilla noted that owners are either not aware that their dogs are there or are just not interested in claiming them anymore.
He said, “Most of the owners are probably unaware that their dog is in the shelter but mostly, there are no signs that they are still interested to claim their fur babies.”
As the number of rescued dogs continue to rise, more hands are needed at the shelter to care for them all. Arcilla described the dogs’ condition and the assistance they need.
He said, “Some are getting si
ck and unattended. They are in need of cages. We need to classify them according to gender, health condition, age and behavior, they have too limited staff since it is just a volunteered shelter.”
Those who are interested to volunteer or give donations, they may easily send Arcilla a private message on his Instagram or reach out through Arcilla’s Capable Foundation.
