Graduates of the Harvard Business School Owner/President Management program has awarded Moreno as its first-ever awardee for his “outstanding leadership” and “dedicated public service” as Mayor of Manila. They described him as a “Gamechanger in Politics” as he made reforms in the country’s capital city. The awarding ceremony was held at the Ascott Hotel in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig on Thursday, November 28.

During his speech, Moreno shared how Harvard opened his eyes to a whole new perspective on governance and politics. “Yung Harvard, minulat niyan ‘yung mata ‘ko. It gave me a new perspective on how to properly govern your constituents,” the Mayor said.

Moreno shared that one of his motivations to study further was because of how his critics underestimated him for being a celebrity. He said, “Sabi nila sa ‘kin noon, ‘Ay wala yan, artista lang yan. Pacute-cute lang yan.’ Kaya naman ako nagnais na mag-aral muli.”

Mayor Isko took his education seriously as he finished courses at the University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration and Governance.

He also completed educational courses in prestigious foreign universities such as the International Business Leaders Program under the U.S. State Department, and executive programs at the JFK School of Government in Harvard University and at Oxford University.

With the recognition, Moreno said he is now more motivated than ever to provide his constituents a good government. He also sought the support of others with his mission.

“Sisikapin ko na magiging maayos at di kahiya-hiya ang aking pamamalakad sa Lungsod ng Maynila. Kaya inaanyayahan ko kayong lahat na tulungan natin ang Maynila in any way that we can,” he said.
