Mika Dela Cruz admitted that she would rather focus on vlogging than acting.
The teen actress shared she is taking time off from acting to focus more on reaching a wider audience online. Mika said she has no plans of starring in a movie or a teleserye in the near future.
Mika told Push, “I’m focusing more on digital this year so wala muna masyadong teleserye. I’m going to work on my YouTube channel. I’m trying to be consistent sa postings and nag-aaral ako ngayon mag-host sa events so yun.”
The Kapuso actress who last starred in GMA’s primetime soap, Kara Mia, shared she got tired of acting and is thrilled to try something new. Mika said, “Actually I wanted to try it ever since and I got tired siguro sa mga soap so now that’s what I’m going to focus on.”
The 20-year-old actress said her YouTube channel needs updating and she will focus on that these coming months. Asked what made her choose vlogging over acting, Mika said she likes it because it’s more genuine than acting.
She said, “Mas close to real life kasi ang vlogging eh. Mas gusto ko ‘yung personal interaction sa mga tao, gusto ko ‘yung nakakapag-inspire. Hindi yung more of acting. Ever since naman acting na yung ginagawa ko so pahinga lang.”
She said she wants to take the year exploring something new. “It’s a year of learning for me,” Mika said.
Mika’s YouTube channel now has 373, 000 followers. Her vlog on her “impulsively getting a tattoo” and driving lessons each garnered over 2 million views.
