- Tres is the son of Rodrigo II and the grandson of Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte
- Messages of congratulations poured in from their supporters
President Rodrigo Duterte may be busy but he didn’t miss out on his first great-grandson’s christening.
Rodrigo “Tres” Duterte III is the youngest addition to the growing presidential family. Tres is the child of Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II and his partner Yssa Labrador.
Presidential son and Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte is the father of Rigo, who is one of the three children he had from his former wife, Lovelie Sangkola.
Photos from the event have circulated online. The President can be seen lovingly carrying his “apo sa tuhod” as he gives him a kiss on the cheek. The dedication of Tres was attended by the rest of the Duterte clan, including Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
Born last June 2019, the proud grandfather Pulong shared how happy he was to become a “lolo.” Posting birth photos of baby Tres, Pulong shared, “Hello Rodrigo III. You have made me a grandfather. Let’s just accept that. Congrats Rodrigo S. Duterte II, we’re now even.”
Surely, the upcoming birthday of Duterte will be more special with the newest baby. Last December 2018, the President looked happy as six of his grandchildren visited him for his 73rd birthday celebration.
Positive comments and congratulatory messages from their supporters poured in for Tres’ dedication. A netizen wrote, “Congrats Mr. President, ang cute ng apo niyo. God bless!”
Netizen C. Flordeliza also wrote, “Grandchildren are blessing to grandparents. Congrats Tatay Digong ng Pilipinas!” Netizen E. Ramirez also commented, “So cute & sweet baby. Congrats po & happy christening!”
Another netizen wrote, “We wish that your grandson, Mr. President, will also love this country as much as you do.”
