Back in the days when almost all leading ladies had long straight hair, Andi admitted hating her curly hair. She thought that having a big hair would even affect her showbiz career and decided to have it rebonded.

Andi told Pep, “Because the standard Pinay leading lady has long, straight hair, so I always believed I had bad hair. My hair was not nice because it was curly, so I rebonded it.”

“When I was a teenager, when I first started out, I actually had it rebonded because I wanted to look like every A-list leading lady,” she added. Unfortunately, all the chemicals and heat badly damaged her hair.

“It was too late when I realized I shouldn’t have done that because my hair died, and I missed my curly hair so much,” Andi said. Looking back, she realized that her “big hair” suits her well because she also has a “big personality.”

It took Andi years to have her hair back looking well and full again. It actually took 10 years and a break away from showbiz that helped revived her hair.

She said, “Ngayon lang siya bumabalik…It’s just recently that my hair has been reviving. It’s been recently that I’ve seen changes in my hair na parang it’s coming alive.”

“Kasi nag-stop na ako mag-showbiz, so nawala na iyong exposure to blow-dry and iron every single day,” she added.

Now that she’s a mother of two daughters, she wants to teach them to love their natural skin and hair. She realized, “It’s who I am, and I miss it. And I feel it’s what makes me more beautiful. It’s who I am. It’s more natural.”

And yes, we agree with her.
