The chefs are serving up some high quality foods for the delegates of the 30th SEA Games at the New Clark City in Tarlac.
The Filipino chefs designated at the Athletes Village of the New Clark City assured that their delegates will not go hungry. Their commitment is so high that they will be serving buffet of high quality, varied food and even halal dishes for 24 hours a day.
Bruce Lim, executive chef for the SEA Games, said that due to the venue’s location, athletes have no place to go to find food elsewhere so they made sure that they will never go hungry even in the middle of the night.
“This is a totally different monster. Athletes can’t leave the complex so we try to make sure that they can eat 24 hours a day, they have enough food and variety throughout, and we want to make sure they are comfortable,” Lim said.
The 24/7 buffet will offer varied dishes from both Western and Asian cultures. They also made sure that foods are halal-certified to cater to our Muslim guests.
Catering coordinator Datu Shaiffudin Kiram said, “Actually ang halal na ito napakahalaga para sa mga athletes natin, mga delegates galing Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, tsaka Brunei.”
Sau del Rosario of Culinaria Pampanga shared that the 30 professional chefs working as a group have promised to use the best produce they can to ensure the quality of food.
