Carmina Villaroel reacted on expectations that she will soon replace Kris Aquino as the country’s “Ho
rro r Queen.”
Carmina is all set to give viewers a good
frigh t this December, as their movie “Sunod” has replaced Kris Aquino’s K(ampon) as an official entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival.
While their films are in the same genre, Carmina refused to be compared with Kris. She told Pep, “Siyempre, iba siya, iba ako. Wala naman sigurong dapat i-compare because nagkataon lang na horror din iyung sa akin.”
Asked if she feels the pressure after replacing Kris who’s often dubbed as the “Ho
rro r Queen,” Carmina said she doesn’t want to get it into her h ead.
Carmina shared, “Ayokong mag-isip ng pressure or expectation. Ayokong maglagay ng pressure sa akin na ako ang pumalit kay Kris Aquino, wala kasing dapat ganun. Wala akong pinalitan.”
“Basta ako, nandito lang kami to enjoy. We just want to enjoy. First time ni Direk Carlo [Ledesma] na maka-experience ng film fest and ako naman, like I’ve said, dalaga pa ako,” she added.
Carmina also belied speculations that there’s a brewing feud between her and Kris after her movie replaced K(Ampon). She said that even before the announcement, Kris had earlier said she wished Carmina’s movie would be chosen as the replacement.
She also said she even received a sincere message from Kris congratulating her.
