The Royal House of Sulu clarified that the “Sulu royals” who conferred Baron Geisler’s honorary “Datu” title were fake.
The Royal House of Sulu’s Chancellery said His Royal Majesty Paduka Masahari Al-Maulana Ampun Sultan Hadji Muedzul-Lail Tan Kiram ibni Almarhum Sultan Mohammad Mahakuttah Abdulla Kiram, the 35th Sultan of Sulu and North Borneo released a statement on September 11 clarifying their stand on Baron’s “Datu” honorary title.
Excerpt of the statement goes, “Please be informed that the recent issuance of a title to Philippine actor, Mr. Baron Geisler, was done by false pretenders who are not even recognized by the Philippine government.”
They added that Baron was issued a “f
ake royal title” and was not issued from the legitimate Sultan of Sulu & North Borneo.
The statement clarified that the Sulu Royals who conferred Baron’s title, Mohammadmamay Hasan Abdurajak and Maria Makiling Helen Fatima Nasaria Panolino Abdurajak are “commoners with no royal blood.”
Meanwhile, Amir Mawallil, a Tausug Bangsamoro Transition Authority member, also confirmed that he has not heard of the names of the Sulu royals who conferred Baron. He said they do not represent the Sultanate in any way.
He also said that the Sulu Sultanate’s name must not be used to promote one’s career.
“If these kings and queens are not part of our shared history as a people and if Baron Geisler is only using this to regain his showbiz career, it’s an incorrect method stemming from ill motives. Do what you need to do, but not in the name of the Sulu Sultanate. Not in the name of our people,” Mawallil told Philstar.
The royal family of King Raja Mohammadmamay Hasan Abdurajak and Queen Maria Makiling Helen Fatima Nasaria Panolino Abdurajak, the heirs and successors to the throne of the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo has conferred to Baron the honorary title of “Datu” during a ceremony on Tuesday, September 10.
According to the actor, the royals were impressed with his testimony of transformation that he was offered the honorary title.
