A simple yet remarkable post of a netizen suddenly went viral due to her message and sincere happiness for the stranger she met inside an elevator.
On her Facebook post, Nicole Espero shared some photos of an elderly woman working as an elevator operator in Centro Escolar University (CEU) in Mendiola, Manila. Inspite of the woman’s age, she was given a chance to be hired in one of the most established intitutions in the country.
According to Nicole’s post, she met the old lady inside an elevator in the ISC building last September 2. It was just random when the old lady spoke to her and said something with enthusiasm.
“Pagsakay ko ng elevator sa ISC sinabi ni nanay, ‘first day ko ngayon,’” wrote Nicole in the caption.
“Thank you CEU for making her happy and for giving her a chance to work and earn kahit na may edad na si nanay and feel ko yung saya ni nanay. Kudos to CEU sa pagbibigay kay nanay ng trabaho!” she continued.
The uploader felt the elderly woman’s happiness on having that job. She then praised her school, CEU, for giving the lady a chance to show that she can still work and earn despite her age.
Many netizens also expressed their gratitude after knowing that CEU has started to accept senior citizens as employees, including people who are older than the usual age for recruitment.
May this serve as an inspiration for other institutions to follow suit and give more opportunities to those who are 40 and up.
Nicole’s post has now reached more than 5,400 likes and almost 2,000 shares on Facebook.
