ears after the announcement that her film with Alden Richards – “Hello, Love, Goodbye” – has earned the title of the highest grossing Filipino film of all time.
Their movie had a total gross of P880,603,490 and beat the previous number one film, “The Hows of Us.” Both movies starred Kathryn, was under Star Cinema and directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.
The success of “Hello, Love, Goodbye” has cemented the “box office star” status of Kathryn. While in tears, Kathryn couldn’t help but share how she was initially hesitant to do the “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”
She said, “Tinanong ko ‘yung sarili ko, ‘Ready na ba? Kaya ko na ba ‘to mag-isa, na wala si DJ (Padilla)? Ngayon, na-realize ko na kung hindi ko tinanggap ‘tong project na ‘to, iyon ‘yung biggest regret of my life,” Kathryn added.
When asked how it feels to beat your own box office record, Kathryn described it as “surreal.” She explained, “Hindi ko alam, grabe. Dito ko napatunayan na kapag minahal mo ‘yung project o ginagawa mo, babalik sa ‘yo. Kung ano ‘yung tinanim mo, aanihin mo talaga.”
Kathryn admitted she is still in disbelief over her success. She credited the success and achievement of their team to their love and dedication to their work.
“Siguro, nag-reflect lang kung paano ‘yung pagmamahal na binigay namin sa bawat pelikula. I’m really thankful. [It’s] surreal. Hindi ko alam kung paano nangyayari ‘to ngayon,” she said.
