A Grade 11 student from Nueva Ecija recreated Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic painting, “Starry Night” in their classroom walls.
Truth be told, attending classes all day can be a daunting task. Oftentimes, students need a break away from all the tasks and stress. But since they don’t always get the freedom to leave and take a breather, sometimes, looking at an artwork might give them the energy boost they need.
For, a Grade 11 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) student, he wanted to showcase “tranquility” by transforming their classroom wall into an artwork.
Vincent Dwight Paulo from Sto. Domingo National Trade School in Nueva Ecija, painted Van Gogh’s masterpiece “Starry Night” into their classroom walls.
He said he wanted to convey “tranquility” and “emotions” through his mural painting.
Dwight explained, “Starry night is not just a painting, it is not just blue, black and yellow strokes. Its contoured forms speak that of tranquility and several emotions.”
The STEM student added that while they usually use their logical side of the brain in studying, it’s also important to share that they have an outlet for their creativity. Dwight said, “We can also work on our right brain to pertain that we are not just logical thinkers, but also creative ones.”
The creative student thanked his classmates and their class adviser Ms. Gracie Ann Dy for supporting him in finishing his masterpiece.
