Driver Rouzdy Sultan was traversing Quezon Avenue in Quezon City when he spotted a small kitten stranded in the center island.

Despite being in traffic and under bad weather conditions, the kind driver didn’t hesitate to save the helpless animal. He said he was worried the kitten would cross the busy street and get hurt.

Sultan shared with CNN, “Medyo umuulan kasi noon at lumapit siya sa akin kaya kinuha ko, baka kasi tumawid.”

Without hesitation, Sultan decided to adopt the poor kitty for good and named him “Ponkan.” He even showed off that Ponkan was ready for a bath.

Sultan reminded pet owners to be responsible with their animals. He said, “Wag po sanang pabayaan ng mga may-ari ang mga alagang hayop dahil ‘di nila maililigtas ang kanilang mga sarili.”

Messages of appreciation for the driver’s random act of kindness poured in.

A netizen I. Flores wrote, “If you know how to show kindness and compassion to helpless animals how much more pa kaya sa tao mismo. Right there it shows your character as human. Kudos to you po! Sana marami pang katulad mo po! God bless!”
