Catriona just showed she will not hesitate to grab the chance to “raise our flag,” even if it means undergoing the rigorous training in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

During the beauty queen’s courtesy visit at the AFP’s General Headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, Catriona said she is open to the possibility. She said, “I’d be open to it. I think there’s something that you definitely learn in giving back to your country in that way.”

The Filipina beauty queen was recognized and awarded by the Command Plaque from AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Benjamin Madrigal Jr for representing the Philippines abroad. Catriona also received a “capa del sur”; a traditional cape woven by the Yakan tribe in Mindanao.

Gen. Madrigal recognized Catriona’s achievement and advocacies as a display that a “woman can make a positive change.”

He said, “Miss Gray, you have served this country long before you attained your crown. With your character, dedication, and passion, you have certainly inspired people to work harder in ending poverty and inequality.”

Catriona excitedly shared that the AFP promised to support her projects, charity events and other advocacies.

She is looking forward that their good partnership will create positive results. She said, “They expressed their desire to partner up with my advocacy and charitable causes, especially about education with the youth, and women empowerment. So I’m really excited to pursue that in the future.”

Catriona said giving back to our country, especially to the children, has given her the “greatest fulfillment in this journey.”
