The Office of the Vice Mayor of General Santos was spotlessly clean, polished, arranged and even newly stocked with supplies just in time for the official turn over.

Outgoing Vice Mayor Shirlyn L. Bañas ordered that her office be prepped and ready for the occupancy of the newly-elected Vice Mayor Atty. Loreto Acharon.

And while politics and pride might often get in the way of such transfer, Bañas promised to give a “smooth transition.”

The office tables, chairs and floors were well polished. The computers and printers were ready for use. Even the office supplies such as tapes, papers were restocked. There was even a welcome letter addressed to the incoming Vice Mayor.

Bañas said she is ready to help our leaders in moving forward.

She wrote, “As strong as your faith was in me when I served as your vice mayor, I, too, as a citizen, shall keep strong faith in our leaders in moving our community forward.”

Many netizens couldn’t help but be impressed on how such actions could be made if politics is set aside.

A netizen wrote, “That shows how efficient and ideal leader you are!”

Another one commented, “Walang labis, walang kulang. Good job, ma’am.”

Another netizen chided, “A lesson for Cebu.”

A netizen also wrote a lengthy message for the outgoing official. She wrote, “Wow! Job well done talaga. Our country needs a leader like you. Praying that the seed in you will grow and multiply so that our country will experience real change.”
