ABS-CBN Primetime King Coco Martin penned a lengthy message as tribute to the late veteran actor Eddie Garcia.
Coco said via Instagram that he couldn’t explain the mixture of sadness and pain that he feels over the passing of Eddie; adding that he just thinks of it as among the plans of God for them.
“Maraming salamat sayo Lo sa lahat ng ating mga kwentuhan at tawanan at sa ating mga masasayang mga oras na magkasama. Malayo man ang edad natin pero tinanggap mo ako bilang kaibigan mo.”
[Thank you very much Lo for all the stories and laughter we had shared together. Despite the wide gap between our ages, you still accepted me as your friend.]
He said that the veteran actor will always be there watching over them.
Coco said he won’t forget the teachings he received from a good model and great actor/director like Eddie.
“Mahal na mahal ka namin Lo!!!”
The two actors worked together in the top-rating series Ang Probinsyano. Eddie played the role of Don Emilio and later under the guise of Senor Gustavo. Coco plays the lead actor in the soap as Cardo.
ABS-CBN News disclosed that the casting of Ang Probinsyano harkened back to earlier decades in the late actor’s career when he portrayed villain characters to the late Fernando Poe, Jr..
Eddie, 90, has appeared in over 600 films and television projects which makes him as the “greatest Filipino actor of all time.”
He had the highest number of appearances in Philippine films, portraying different roles.
