“Change your mentality”: Gerald Anderson reveals secret to being fit

When it comes to working out, Gerald Anderson believes you’re only as good as your last performance.

The actor shared that an important part of working out is changing your mentality and goals.

Gerald reportedly told Push, “I think more than yung parts ng body ko, more on ‘yung performance ko sa bawat workout, I think ‘yun ‘yung sikreto dun eh, is kung paano mo talunin ‘yung last workout mo or ‘yung last personal record mo.”

Gerald continued that if your goal is only to have a good body, it’s very temporary. He said the best motivation is to beat your own record.

“Pero kung may goal ka na gusto mo talunin yung sarili mo, ‘yun ‘yung mas may weight,” he said.

The Kapamilya hunk said a disciplined diet and healthy lifestyle are also very important when it comes to keeping a fit body.

“Alalay lang sa pagkain. Wala naman ako specific diet ngayon but sa dami ko ng exercise na ginagawa kasi may basketball practice ako and then diretso ako dito and then pag may games kami balik ako dito so hindi ako nagkulang sa exercise,” Gerald said.

Gerald shared that all his learnings on fitness has inspired him to open his own gym, The Th3rd Floor.

He said, “Yun ‘yung gusto ko i-share sa tao, kung paano ‘yung naging lifestyle ko, kung ano ‘yung tumulong sa akin para kahit papaano marating ko ‘yung narating ko ngayon dahil din sa third floor ng bahay ko.”

Gerald’s gym is the newest hangout place of celebrity fitness buffs. Among those seen working out were Bea Alonzo,  Kathryn Bernardo, Ria Atayde and more.

The actor said his gym has become his “sanctuary” or a place for him to find his peace of mind.
