Dennis Padilla speaks up on the brewing feud between the Barretto sisters.
Marjorie Barretto’s former husband Dennis didn’t want to intrude between his former wife Marjorie and her sisters Claudine and Gretchen, but he asked for one request – for the children to be spared.
Dennis told Push, “Actually naaawa din ako. Gusto ko sana na kahit na may tampuhan ang mga nakatatanda, sana ‘wag madamay ang mga magpipinsan ba.”
The feud between the three Barretto sisters have been going on for years already. While Gretchen and Claudine have patched things up, another issue was ignited when Marjorie’s daughter Dani mentioned she was raised by her mother alone.
Gretchen didn’t take Dani’s words lightly and reminded her of how she and Claudine helped to raise her financially and emotionally when she was growing up.
Dennis, Dani’s stepfather, fears the children will become estranged.
“Kasi ako ever since we got separated ‘yung mga anak ko sa una and mga anak ko kay Marjorie, na ano e imbis na ma-solidify, medyo napalayo, nakakalungkot,” he said.
Dennis added that he always reminds his kids to treat each other kindly and equally.
“‘Yun kasi lagi kong sinasabi sa mga anak ko noong maliliit pa sila na number one, na ayaw ko makirinig ng mention ng half-brother, half-sister, kasi I consider all of them as a whole,” he said.
Dennis said that whatever happens, family should look out for each other.
He added, “ And I always mention na kapag mayroon kayong kapatid na gipit, huwag niyong antayin na humingi ng tulong, kayo ang pumunta at lumapit.”
Meanwhile, Dennis is one proud father to Julia Barretto, especially with her new film “Between Maybes”
He said, “Well, I’m so proud, kasi ang talent niyan andyan na, hindi mo na kailangan turuan. Kahit hindi mo na i-workshop ‘yan, natural actress na ‘yan dahil sa side pa lang ng Tatay ko, ako, sa side pa lang ni Gretchen, Marjorie at Claudine, dugong artista talaga ‘yan.”
