A flight attendant of Southwest Airlines went above and beyond her job after holding a restless baby girl in an effort to give the passenger mother a break and a chance to settle in.
Savannah Blum, a teacher, was travelling back home to Reno, Nevada via a connecting flight from Las Vegas with her 19-month-old daughter Brittan after visiting a family in Texas during her school’s spring break.
During the trip, her daughter didn’t want to sleep like she usually does on flights, according to the report. Then Brittan got a little bit fussy during the preflight demonstration.
The flight attendant, Jessica, told Blum not to worry and reached for Brittan. “Come here, baby. I got her, Mama. You go sit down,” she said.
She took baby Brittan up and down the aisle closing the overhead bins. Soon Brittan started to get comfortable and started blowing kisses to her fellow passengers.
With one simple act of kindness to a tired mama, Jessica spread joy all over that flight.
Savannah recorded it and posted it on social media.
“Everyone loves this little girl – even Southwest passengers and flight attendants,” Blum said.
“Our employees “take great pride in delivering our legendary Southwest Hospitality, so it’s not surprising that one of our amazing Flight Attendants shared her Southwest Heart while helping to care for one of our youngest customers in such a sweet, fun way!” Southwest Airlines said.
