Former PNP chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa quickly apologized over a joke he made about Sharon Cuneta’s body.
Gen. “Bato” Dela Rosa quickly tried to take back and explain his words when he compared Sharon Cuneta and Beauty Gonzales’ bodies.
Beauty portrays the role of Bato’s wife, Nancy, in his upcoming biopic. Bato’s character is played by actor Robin Padilla.
During the presscon of Bato’s movie, “Bato: The Gen. Ronald Dela Rosa Story”, the senatorial candidate was asked why they chose Beauty to portray his wife’s character.
Last December, Dela Rosa already shared that his wife Nancy was a huge fan of Sharon Cuneta and was hoping the Megastat would accept the role.
During the presscon, Dela Rosa confirmed that his wife continues to be a fan of the Megastar but things changed when she saw the actress Beauty Gonzales.
Dela Rosa was quoted by Pep explaining, “Totoo po na fan ni Sharon Cuneta ang misis ko.”
“Pero nung makita niya si Beauty Gonzalez sa trailer, sabi niya, ‘Yan! ‘Yung presensya ni Beauty Gonzalez justifies my pagkatao,’” he added.
Much to the delight of the crowd, Dela Rosa jokingly continued, “Noong bago kami ikasal [turning to face Beauty], ganito ‘yung katawan ni Misis, ngayon Sharon Cuneta [as she gestured the body figure of Sharon.]”
Dela Rosa, upon realizing that his joke would reach the Megastar and would come out offensive, stood up to apologize.
Dela Rosa had earlier explained that his biopic is not about his love story with his wife but is focused on how he rose against poverty. He said, “I want the movie to inspire people especially the youth… na kahit galing ka sa mahirap, you could be somebody.”
