This year’s Civil Engineering Board Exam topnotcher is a proud scholar of GMA’s noontime show, Eat Bulaga.
Jaydee Niere Lucero got a score of 97.20 in the recent Civil Engineering Board Exam; earning him the top spot this year. Lucero, a graduate of the University of the Philippines-Diliman is proud that his journey to success was partly due to the contributions of many.
Lucero first thanked the sponsor of the scholarship grant that paved the way for him to finish his studies. The sponsor is no less than TV’s longest-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga.
On Facebook, Lucero wrote, “Sa Eat Bulaga, sa pagpapaaral ninyo sa akin (at sa aming mga EBEST scholars) for the past 9 years. Hindi ko marahil mararating ang tagumpay na ito kung hindi dahil sa inyo, thank you po!”
Lucero also thanked his alma mater and the Phinma National Scholarship (PNS) Program and UP Diliman Institute of Civil Engineering and Review Innovations for “bringing out the best in me.”
The topnotcher also mentioned all his friends, family and colleagues who contributed to his success.
Lucero also shared how his family inspired him. He said that at home, he isn’t allowed to open Facebook.
“Sa bahay, prohibited ako mag-Facebook during review, minsan pinagagalitan niya ako pag nanonood lang kami ni ate ng anime imbes na nagrereview. Pero because of that, natuto akong maging focused if I want to achieve something great, and it worked.”
Lucero is only one of the many Eat Bulaga scholars who were able to achieve their dreams. Back in 2009, Eat Bulaga launched “Excellent Student Awards” or EBEST Awards in celebration of its 30th anniversary. The awards aim to sponsor students who are financially incapable to finish their studies.
Last May, they helped 18 students graduate and earn a degree. Eat Bulaga also congratulated Lucero on its Facebook page; saying they are so proud of him.
