- She added she needs to improve more and work extra hard to achieve her dream
After spending more than a decade in showbiz, Kris Bernal admitted she is longing to have an acting award.
Newbies, seasoned or veteran actors all wish for their craft to be recognized. And while some actors’ impressive acting chops may easily trend online, nothing tastes sweeter than actually getting an award for it.
The Kapuso star Kris Bernal also feels strongly about being recognized and getting an award, as she disclosed: “Gusto ko na rin gumawa ng role na mapapansin ka, hindi yung parang nadaanan lang. Yung puwede ka na ring mabigyan ng recognition.”
Kris admitted sometimes feeling frustrated because it seems like an acting award is too elusive for her. She shared that since 2009, she’s always been in a show every year but has never been given an award or even recognized.
After spending 12 years in showbiz, Kris’ mindset in choosing roles has changed.
“Yon pa rin ‘yong mindset ko. Kasi lagi nga ako binibigyan ng magagandang roles na kakaiba, pero ‘di ko alam bakit hindi ko talaga siya makuha,” Kris said; admitting she still needs to work hard and focus on improving her acting skills.
“Kailangan siguro talagang husayan at husayan ko pa talaga kaya every time na nabibigyan ako ng bagong role at kakaiba ‘yon nga siyempre inaano ko sa performance ko,” Kris added.
Kris got candid and asked what more could she do to get the recognition she dreams of. She was quoted by Pep, “Kasi ibinigay ko naman ang todo ko. Ano kaya ang kulang pa?”
The actress will soon star in a GMA afternoon drama, “Hanggang sa Dulo ng Buhay Ko,” alongside Rayver Cruz and Megan Young.
