Aiming to help cats and dogs in shelters find a home, a 12-year-old boy has been creating stylish bow ties that can make these animals look more attractive.
In 2017, Darius “Sir Darius” Brown, who learned the sad realities in the life of displaced animals, decided to start the Beaux & Paws and started to donate stylish bow ties to animal shelters and adoption centers in the USA and in the United Kingdom.
“Sir Darius decided to donate bow ties to these displaced dogs to help them look attractive and fashionable in hopes of getting adopted faster and finding their new FUR-ever homes,” read the statement written on Darius’ GoFundMe page.
Sir Darius’ initiative has gained a lot of support and encouragement. With him in this project are former NBA All-Star Allen Houston, motivational speaker Les Brown, Michael Strahan, Walt Frazier, Scott Perry, The NY Knicks, NY Giants, actress Kenya Moore, among others.
He has also received a number of awards and recognitions and was featured in different shows and publications.
Support from former US president
In 2018, Sir Darius’ efforts reached former president Barack Obama.
