Former actress Angeli Gonzales, who became an inspiration to many after fulfilling her dream of becoming a doctor, said she dedicates her success to her parents.

On Twitter, Angeli captured a lot of hearts after noting that for her, “MD” means “mommy” and “daddy”.

“Just look at my parents’ face. Worth it lahat ng pagod,” she wrote.

“My MD really means mommy and daddy. Love you,” she added.

In a lengthy Facebook post, the actress also expressed gratitude to her parents for giving utmost importance on her education over her career as an actress.

“I didn’t have a lot of teleseryes or movies because they only scheduled tapings and shoots during the weekends. May weekdays man, after school pa,” she wrote.

She also thanked her siblings, as well as the other people who helped her along the way.

Dreams outside showbiz

Meanwhile, Angeli shared that she chose a life away from the limelight to focus on her studies because of her “dreams outside showbiz”.

“The cast and the production of every show I worked with understood that I had dreams outside of showbiz at lahat talaga sila inintindi kapag kailangan late call time ko kasi may pasok ako or kapag kailangan early pack-up ako kasi may exams ako the next day,” she said.
