Germany to hire 350 nurses, care workers

Opportunities to work overseas are once again knocking on Filipino nurses’ and health care workers’ doors.

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) announced that Germany is in need of 50 nurses and 300 care workers.

According to the agency, applicants must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing with active Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) license; must have a minimum of two years related professional experience in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, or care institutions.

Applicants must have German Language Proficiency or willing to undergo German Language Training to attain Level B1, the agency added.

Successful applicants will have a starting monthly salary of 2,000 euros or over P100,000. It will be further increased to 2,400 euros after being recognized as a qualified nurse.

Travel expenses like the visa and airfare from the Philippines to Germany will also be shouldered by the employer.

The employer will also assist the employee in finding a suitable accommodation, where the nurse will bear the expenses in full or in part of the board and lodging.

Interested applicants are advised to register online at the POEA website – or and personally submit pertinent documents at the agency’s office in Mandaluyong City.

Applicants should include a cover letter and curriculum vitae with colored passport size picture, notarized nursing diploma, board certificate and copy of PRC license, certificate of employment in related field, attendance or level of certificate for German language, if available, and copy of valid passport.

According to the agency, applicants only have until June 7, 2019 to apply for the job opening.
