Sheena Rose Tamayo is an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Hong Kong. Instead of taking care of children, she works as a nanny to eight dogs.
For animal lovers, particularly dog lovers, this is a dream job! What else can you ask for?
Tamayo is currently taking care of two standard poodles, two German Shepherds, two Akita Inus, and two Chinese dogs.
According to her, she started taking care of only one dog when she was employed as a nanny in 2016. Her boss saw that she is skilled in the job, so her boss decided to add more dogs into the family.
“Nung nakita ng amo ko na maganda naman ‘yung resulta ng pag-aalaga ko sa aso, he kept on buying,” she told GMA News.
(“When my boss saw that I was good in taking care of his dog, he kept on buying.”)
The eight huge and adorable dogs that Tamayo is taking care of are treated very well. They even have their own air-conditioned area at home.
“May sariling dog house po sila at hindi lang po malamig, super lamig, parang winter din po,” she said.
(“The dogs have their own dog house where it is super cold; it actually feels like winter.”)
Tamayo may be far from her family and a stranger in a foreign land, but her work as a nanny to eight dogs is an enjoyable one. She finds joy in taking care of them. In return, they provide her with loving company and are great stress-relievers.
Tamayo and her pets were even featured on GMA 7’s “24 Oras: Usapang Pets.” Watch her feature here.
