Disney will be joining the world of streaming media with the launch of Disney+ happening first in the United States on November 12, 2019, which will soon expand to other parts of the world.
Due to high consumer demand, the Walt Disney Company decided to have streaming services under the operation of Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer and International.
The US will be the first to experience the most-awaited streaming service followed by Western Europe, Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, and in Latin America within the course of two years.
The Disney+streaming service in the US will cost $6.99 or roughly P360.00 a month while price details for other locations are not yet revealed.
This is good news for all Disney fans as their all-time favorite shows will be available in the streaming service including classic and new Disney films and TV shows; Pixar films; Star Wars, Marvel, and other films acquired from 21st Century Fox; and ESPN contents from ABC television.
“The Disney+ platform is being built on that foundation, one that no other content or technology company can rival,” expressed by Robert “Bob” Iger, the chairman and chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company.
“We knew the best approach to the market was to create great content and distribute it in innovative ways. It is that simple,” he added.
The company executives plan to release Disney+ streaming services in different platforms including smartphones, tablets, gaming consoles, set-top boxes, and smart televisions which will surely be accessible to everyone.
Disney will be up for a competition against Netflix and YouTube but they are positive about the results and they believe in their success.
