Not even old age can stop a man from wanting to earn a living. A 94-year-old man recently went viral for selling ballpens near the Manila City Hall.
On Facebook, user Dudot Argente uploaded a photo of the old vendor; urging people to do a small act of kindness to the latter by supporting his small business.
“Guys! If mapadaan kayo dito (near papasok Intramuros from city hall), bili kayo ballpen kay Tatay,” he wrote as caption on the picture.
[Guys! If you pass by this spot (near the Intramuros entrance, if you’re coming from the city hall), buy a ballpen from Tatay.]
He shared that while the elderly man’s ballpens are very cheap, the smile he received in return is priceless.
“May ballpen ka na, nakatulong ka pa at makikita mo ‘yong ngiti ni Tatay. Mura lang ‘yong pens!” he said.
[You’ll get a ballpen plus you’ll see Tatay’s smile. And the pens are inexpensive!]
The post has touched a lot of hearts online; getting over 6,000 comments, more than 27,000 reactions, and nearly 30,000 shares.
Written on a cardboard at the old man’s selling spot are the words: “I’m 94 years old. Thank God He prolong my life.”
