Philippine telecommunication company Smart and global Internet giant Google teamed up with the promise of bringing fast, free and reliable Internet in the country.
According to a GMA News story, the partnership will provide free internet access to Filipinos.
“Powered by Smart Wi-Fi’s nationwide infrastructure, more citizens will now be enabled to enjoy a digital lifestyle with the growing number of Smart Wi-Fi hubs throughout the country,” a statement from PLDT’s official website reads.
As per Smart’s free Wi-Fi service, the public may avail of free internet for an initial period of time and they have the option to pay if they want to surf more.

Kenneth Lingan, Google Philippines Country Manager, expressed his happiness for the team up in giving the Filipinos more access to new information and learning tools via the internet that shall empower the people in a meaningful way.
