The 4th Miss Intercontinental might be over but another beauty queen is also creating a buzz online. Netizens and pageant enthusiasts said that Miss Vietnam’s walk and even her gowns seem to look too familiar.

During the evening gown competition, Miss Viettnam Le Au Ngan Anh wore a flaming red sequined dress and as she sashayed down the runway, she had a moment when she posed and combed her down at the side.

Pageant enthusiasts couldn’t help but notice that she seemed to be channeling our very own Miss Universe Catriona Gray. Netizens remarked that it was not only the viral lava walk that she imitated but even Catriona’s magma gown.

Miss Vietnam Le Au Ngan Anh is 23 years old and is studying her Master program of Events International Management. She lives in Ho Chi Minh and says that she has a “strong passion for updating fashion trends and traveling around the world”. She was crowned Miss Ocean Vietnam 2017.

Many netizens are now at odds on whether it’s a good thing as a form of flattery or a “second rate copy cat.” Netizens remarked how Miss Vietnam didn’t show originality. Some defended the beauty queen though; saying she might just be a fan of Miss Universe Catriona Gray.

A netizen on Twitter said, ”Girl, original is always worth more than the copy. Nothing beats the original. While another netizen defended the Vietnamese beauty; saying, “Para sa akin, walang masama sa inspired gown and look ni Miss Vietnam sa Miss Intercontinental.”

Miss Vietnam Le Au Ngan Anh placed 4th in the competition. 3rd runner-up was won by Miss Colombia Hillary Hollmann, 2nd runner-up is Miss Solvak Republic Laura Longauerova, while 1st runner-up is Miss Costa Rica Adriana Moya Alvarado.

Miss Vietnam also bagged the People’s Choice Award.
