- A video of high school students practicing for a radio broadcasting competition has gone viral
- Journalist Emil Sumangil said the students did not only possess veteran-like voices but they have a good scoring
- The team didn’t expect the piece to go viral because it was only a practice
A video clip of some high school students practicing for a radio broadcasting competition recently went viral because of their professional-like performance; the views of which has reached around 5.2-million views on Facebook.
According to KJM Promotions, the students from Eastern Samar National High School (ESNCHS) radio broadcasting team in the Filipino category had a practice session using some of KJM’s equipment in December last year as they prepare for the Regional Schools Press Conference.
As per GMA News‘ Emil Sumangil, the students did not only possess quality veteran-like voices but they have “scoring” as they properly read the news.
Though the piece was only a practice, many netizens expressed their commendation to the team.
“This is what we called effort, this is how the project should be done.”
“Superb guys. I am truly astounded by your excellence. I’m a media practitioner but I think I can’t do your talent.”
The team, perhaps, failed to amaze the judges in the press conference as they did not win in the competition except for a minor award — second place in technical category.
Shamen Bebita, one of the students, said, “Parang na-shock ako, like wow! viral ba to? Ako ba to? like hindi ko inexpect na magva-viral ‘yung video.” [I’m shocked, like wow! Is this viral? Is this me? I didn’t expect the video to go viral.]
ABS-CBN News disclosed that Julius Van Beringuel said the ESNCHS team didn’t expect the video to go viral because it was only a practice.
“Maraming pasalamat pa rin kami kahit hindi nanalo, malaking twist ba, ‘yung feeling namin ngayon na parang, kahit hindi nanalo, parang nag-champion na rin dahil maraming nag-appreciate,” Ralph Justin Alconaba said.
[Thank you very much because even though we didn’t win, there’s a huge twist, we feel that although we didn’t win, we felt like champions because many expressed appreciation.]
