The Itchyworms’ Jugs Jugueta, 16 international artists record a medley of Queen songs

  • The program was part of a promotional campaign for the upcoming movie “Bohemian Rhapsody”
  • The movie, which stars Rami Malek as Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, will be shown in Philippine cinemas on October 31, 2018

Jugs Jugueta, a member of the band The Itchyworms and a host on “It’s Showtime” noontime TV show, joined 16 other musical personalities from different countries in recording a medley of Queen songs.

Jugueta was the Philippines’ representative to the Bohemian Rhapsody’s Global Influencer Program; a promotional campaign for the upcoming movie “Bohemian Rhapsody” which is about the life of the late Freddie Mercury, the Queen’s flamboyant frontman.

“I was selected by 20th Century Fox PH to represent the Philippines for Bohemian Rhapsody’s Global Influencer Program. The concept was to bring together influencers from around the world for an immersive Bohemian Rhapsody experience,” Jugueta told Bandwagon; an online music publication and live music gig finder.

Jugueta, alongside influencers from Germany, Russia, Japan, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, UK, Chile, Turkey, Singapore, Colombia, New Zealand, Italy, and Taiwan, recorded the Queen songs medley comprising of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” “We Will Rock You,” and “We Are the Champions” at the Metropolis Studios in London, where Queen had recorded its legendary album Innuendo.

After recording the medley of Queen’s songs, the group also shot a music video where they were shown dressed in Queen-inspired outfits. Jugueta shared that they watched the movie and were able to view the Freddie Mercury and Queen memorabilia at Hard Rock London.
