- Harry Roque is still undecided to run as Philippine Senator
- Koko Pimentel said he will be included in the senatorial line-up of PDP-Laban if he decides to run
- Roque started shooting a political advertisement for his planned campaign
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque will be included among the senatorial line-up of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) if he will decide to run for the position in the 2019 midterm election, Radyo Inquirer posted.
According to Senator Koko Pimentel, who is also in the line-up, aside from Roque, Presidential adviser on political affairs Francis Tolentino, Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Bong Go, Congressman Monsour Del Rosario, Bureau of Corrections chief Ronald dela Rosa and Maguindanao Representative Zajid “Dong” Magudadaty are in their party for next year’s poll.
Roque, who hasn’t filed his certificate of candidacy yet, is still undecided whether or not to push with his Senatorial plan.
The Spokesperson, as per ABS-CBN News, admitted he was “taken aback” by the President’s pronouncements about his chances; saying it was a game changer for him.
“For the past five or six months, he’s been calling me a senator. For all intents and purposes endorsing my bid for Senate so I was taken aback with his statement with the Philippine Military Academy alumni,” Roque said.
Philippine Star quoted him saying, “We’re still talking. I talked to the president yesterday afternoon. Talks have not been concluded. We will continue with our conversation.”
He, however, admitted that he has started shooting a political advertisement for his planned campaign because it was already paid for.
