- New accountant shared an emotional Facebook post
- He wanted to share his success with somebody whom he loves but he can’t do it anymore
- The dreadful event took place two weeks before the board exam which he passed
Young accountant Dominic Tumaliuan, in a very emotional lengthy Facebook post, expressed his desire to share with his father his joy on passing the board exam. However, that isn’t possible anymore.
Via an open letter to his lost shepherd, he said in his post: “Kumusta ka na kaya? May napakagandang balita ang dumating. Na sana kung naantay mo, siguradong magtatatalon ka na naman sa saya at may maikukwento ka na naman sa mga kaibigan at kamag-anak natin.” he started his post.
[How are you? I have a good news for you, that if you’ve only waited awhile, I’m sure you’d jump for joy because you have something new to tell our friends and relatives.]
Tumaliuan reminisced on their joy during his graduation day after he finished his accountancy course; his mom and dad were there to share in the merit he achieved.
Thereafter, he reviewed for the upcoming CPA board exam but sad news reached him when he was already in Manila — regarding his dad — that is why he hurriedly went home weeping inside the bus; remembering the last time his father brought him to the terminal.
“Yung paghatid mo sakin sa terminal papuntang manila, huling hatid mo na pala yun sakin, Pa. Yung pagmiryenda natin sa park nila bunso, huling libre mo na pala yun samin, Pa. Yung soundtrip mong 80’s na paborito mong tugtugin at kantahin sa sasakyan, huling hirit mo na pala yun, Pa. Yung tuwing nagrereview ako, ireremind mo sakin na magpahinga naman ako.”
[The last time you brought me to the terminal going to Manila, that was your last time bringing me there, Pa. The snack we had with bunso, that had been your last treat for us. The 80s music you love to play and sing inside the car, didn’t know it would be your last, Pa. Whenever I’m reviewing, you always remind me to rest.]
He regrets that his dad could not go to PICC anymore to attend his oath-taking ’cause his father wore ‘barong’ earlier than him.
The new accountant said he felt so down; he was in denial since he knew his father was very strong then.
The dreadful event, he said, took place only two weeks before the board exam.
With determination he still took the exam despite the grief; and he passed it!
On a final note, he thanked his father for his love and support — “Pa. I got this. We miss you, PAPA. til’ we meet again.”
