Baguio City, Philippines – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Tuesday started the door-to-door distribution of car plates at their office.
“Initiative to ng Department of Transportation kasi nakikita natin na aside from busy ‘yung car owners natin from their daily work, isa rin itong hakbang para makatulong sa ating car owners,” said Engr. Robert Santiago, regional director of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Cordillera.
Representatives from the government agency are personally distributing the plates to the owners’ address that are registered in their system.
“At least hindi ka na pabalik-balik sa dealer at least kampante ka na ring bumiyahe,” said Sherwin Paragas; one of the LTO representatives who distribute the plates.
The plan is also to lessen their backlogs. According to a report by ABS-CBN News, 174 plates have been distributed already in the areas of Baguio and Benguet.
According to the LTO, they distribute the plates twice every week. They target owners residing in Baguio and Benguet and will serve other provinces in the region.
LTO’s door-to-door service is free.
