The more the merrier?
So many have been lining up to buy lottery tickets from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) outlets nationwide, and it’s no wonder because the jackpot prize has zoomed to over P700M plus!
In the midst of rising prices of basic commodities, it sure looks like more people are placing their hopes on being the super lucky winner of the multi-million jackpot prize, despite the 20% increase in the price of lotto tickets.
As of September 28 evening, the jackpot prize for the Ultra Lotto 6/58 has zoomed to a whopping P774,030,800; breaking all prize money records in the history of PCSO.
On September 26, one lucky winner got the winning combination — 9-19-24-28-34-42 — for the MegaLotto 6/55 which has risen to P55,449,633. That is already a huge sum of money though Ultra Lotto has a pot three times as much.
Who’ll be that super duper lucky Ultra Lotto winner?
Well, ABS-CBN’s Analytics Head Edson Guido shared through DZMM recently that the 6/58 jackpot is hard to win because there are about 40 million possible combinations. Whew! Hence, buying just one combination would be like looking for a needle in a haystack?
And if you belong to the affluent sector of society who could afford to bet on all 40 million combinations, well… Guido said that “One ticket is P24 so multiply that by 40 million, that’s about P1 billion. Lugi ka pa ng P300 million.” [You’d be P300 million short.]
It sure looks like the higher the prize, the more are buying tickets.
The Ultra Lotto 6/58 is drawn every Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday.
